About Us

Basha Ontiveros is a Speech-Language Pathologist. She received her Master's degree in 2002 from Illinois State University. She has served as an educational advocate for parents in public schools aiding in IEP and 504 plan development and support.

She began working with children with speech, language and learning disabilities in the public schools and immediately knew helping children communicate, read, and learn successfully was something she felt passionate about. Basha owned and ran Speech & Learning Connections in Bloomington, IL providing such therapies such as social skills groups for children with high functioning autism and asperger's, language disorders in preschool children through adolescence, accent modification to help individuals modify or reduce their accents, and frequently evaluated and diagnosed dyslexia in children.

Basha is trained in several speech and reading programs such as Lindamood-Bell LiPS®, Visualizing and Verbalizing, the Kauffman Program for Verbal Apraxia, the Barton Reading Program developed by Susan Barton, the Compton-ESL program, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
